LESSON SIX
TEXT
AT THE POLICE STATION

Policeman: What’s the mother, madam?
Lady: My little Jimmy has disappeared! I’m desperate! I need your help! I haven’t seen him since yesterday…
Policeman: Be calm, madam. We will find him. Have you looked for him in the neighborhood?
Lady: Yes, I have looked for him everywhere, in the streets, in the squares, in the parks…
Policeman: Have you telephoned your relatives?
Lady: Yes, I have.
Policeman: What was he wearing when he disappeared?
Lady: He was wearing a red pullover.
Policeman: And the trousers… What color were they?
Lady: Trousers? He doesn’t wear trousers.
Policeman: I don’t understand…??? How old is he?
Lady: He is only one year old. (She begins to cry.)
Policeman: Be calm, madam. We will find your baby soon.
Lady: Baby? Oh, no. Jimmy isn’t a baby. It’s my dog!
