QUESTION TAGS

São perguntas curtas, logo após uma vírgula, feitas para pedir confirmação sobre o que se diz na frase inicial.

Quando o verbo da frase inicial estiver no Simple Present Tense e na forma afirmativa, a question tag é negativa. Basta colocar DON’T  ou DOESN’T com o pronome pessoal correspondente ao sujeito do verbo.

Observe os exemplos:

·         You speak English, don’t you?

Frase inicial: You soeak English

Question Tag negative: don’t you?

·         He drives well, doesn’t he?

Frase inicial: He drives well

Question Tag negativa: doesn’t he

Quando a frase inicial for negative a question tag é afirmativa e se faz com DO ou DOES. Veja os exemplos:

·         They don’t drink water, do they?

Frase inicial: They don’t drink water

Question tag afirmativa: do they?

·         Susan doesn’t smoke, does she?

Frase inicial negativa: Susan doesn’t smoke

Question tag afirmativa: does she?
