The Past Tense of the verb TO BE

Forma afirmativa

I was (eu era, ele estava)

You were (tu eras, tu estavas)

He was (ele era, ele estava)

She was (ela era, ela estava)

It was (ele ou ela era ou estava)

We were (nós éramos, nós estávamos)

You were (vós éreis, vós estáveis)

They were (eles eram, eles estavam)

Forma interrogativa

A interrogativa do Past Tense é feita pela inversão do sujeito com o verbo TO BE.

AFIR.: He was at home last night.

INT.: Was he at home last night?

Were we?...?

Were you...?

Were they...?

Forma negativa

A negativa do Past Tense é feita colocando-se NOT após WAS ou WERE. Assim: WAS NOT; WERE NOT.
